Lehavree ~ Healing Service

Join us for a 'Lehavree Service.' Meaning 'to heal,' the Hebrew word 'Lehavree' defines a simple prayer service incorporating sacred readings, music, time for reflection, and anointing with holy oil. This practice for healing dates back to the time of the patriarchs, many centuries ago. Rediscover with us the value of prayer and anointing with oil to help comfort and heal those who are hurting or sick.

The Lehavree Service will be held on Tuesday evening, March 11 beginning at 7 pm at Grace Church.

At the Lehavree Service you will have to opportunity to pray for people (ourselves included) who are in poor health. Poor health can mean our physical health, but also can refer to our emotional state, our relationships and even our spiritual condition. We pray for those who support someone with health concerns. It is also an opportunity to remember those who have died. Those who pray with you have a dedicated commitment and belief that God is a God of health and wholeness.

In a nondenominational setting, the Lehavree begins with soft, reverent music followed by candle lighting. A reader then offers a selection from scripture or another source and invites people to be anointed with sacred oil, while others are praying or silently reflecting. The service closes with a song and people are invited to leave the name of persons they are praying for as they depart. These people are prayed for at upcoming Sunday services at Grace Church.
