At Grace Episcopal Church we believe in ministry of all the baptized. Lay people are invited to serve the church in the way that they feel called. Some of these ways might include:
Altar Guild: This group of men and women and men prepare the sanctuary and the altar for church services on Sunday.
Choir: New voices are always welcome into Grace’s choir. The choir rehearses Sundays at 9am September – April.
Acolytes: All children 10 years and older are trained to assist and serve in the worship services. New members are welcomed, including adults, into the program.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers: Men and women who serve at communion.
Lectors: Parishioners who are appointed to read specific lessons or psalms during the worship service.
Greeters and Ushers: Women and men who welcome and assist worshipers at all church services. They also record the attendance, gather the offerings and straighten books and pews after services.
Office Volunteers: Volunteers who help out in the church office in a variety of ways, including assembling the weekly bulletin, answering the telephone and assisting in other clerical tasks.
